  • Rebekah Brooks's actual name is Rebekah Mary Brooks. She was born on May 27, 1968.
  • Brooks is the youngest British newspaper editor when she became its chief in 2000. She is the first female editor for The Sun in 2003.
  • Her meteoric success made every one believe she is going to become Rupert Murdoch's proxy.
  • In June 2002 she married actor Ross Kemp. She was arrested in November 2005 for alleged assault on her husband. She was later released without charges. Few days later, they separated.
  • She attended the 50th birthday party of Prince of Wales.
  • In June 2009, she married Charlie Brooks, a former racehorse trainer and author. UK Prime Ministers Gordon Brown and David Cameron were amongst the special invitees for the private marriage function.
  • She is figured in the News International phone hacking scandal. She was resigned from his position in July 2011 and few days later, on July 17, 2011, she was arrested for her involvement in the scandal.
