  • Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was born on October 7, 1952 in Leningrad, RSFSR, USSR.
  • His father was a conscript in the Soviet Navy and his mother was a factory worker.
  • In his sixth grade, Putin took up sambo and judo.
  • He graduated from the Leningrad State University in 1975. His final thesis was on international law.
